FAWCO Friendship Quilt 2007

A Smile is the Shortest Distance

2007 marks The FAWCO Foundation’s 40th anniversary. Not quite as exciting as last year’s big 75th for our parent organization, but noteworthy all the same. If you’ve turned 40 yourself, it probably felt like a major milestone!

The late great comedian and concert pianist Victor Borge always said, “The smile is the shortest distance between two people.” Words to live by! So send me a quilt block that makes you smile. And since ruby is the stone for the 40th, use some RED

Here are the rules:

Block size: 6 ½ inches OR 12 ½ inches (unfinished size).

Please use 100% cotton fabric! No poly blends, no plastic beads or buttons.

Since red is notorious for bleeding dye, please make sure your fabric is colorfast.

You may use any technique: pieced, appliqué or embroidery.

You may make as many blocks as you like. Please sign your name!!!!!!!

Blocks accepted from individuals, from clubs, from mothers and cousins and friends. The more the better! Just sign your name! Did I mention about signing your name? And keep smiling!

NT's deadline - late September 2006.
