NT/FAWCO Projects

Nimble Thimble participates in an annual project of the FAWCO Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas www.fawco.org. Each March, during FAWCO's annual conference, a theme is selected and an invitation to participate is made to each of its 77 American clubs worldwide, with combined membership of nearly 18,000 in 35 countries. Each club participates on an individual basis and encourages its members to join in the worldwide friendship quilt. AWAR's NT members usually contribute approximately 10-14 blocks per friendship quilt. For the 2008 FAWCO Friendship quilt, Nimble Thimble contributed 24 blocks! Over the years, NT has even provided the theme, like NT member Beth Sanders did for the 2008 quilt. Roberta Zollner is FAWCO's master quiltmaker and we are proud to have her as a member of NT.
