Membership inquiries

Membership in the American Women's Association of Rome is composed of the following categories:

Regular - Women who reside or sojourn in or near Rome, Italy who are U.S. citizens, wives of U.S. citizens or daughters of U.S. citizens. Regular members must speak English, the language of the Association.

Associate - Women of other nationalities, their number not to exceed 25% of the total Regular membership at the time of their application. Associate members must speak English, the language of the Association and be sponsored by two Regular Members. Women who transfer from clubs which belong to the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas (FAWCO) are accepted immediately.

Non-resident (Alumna) - Women who are Regular members who leave the Rome area and wish to continue their membership.

Sustaining - Friends of AWAR, composed of companies and individuals who wish to assist the Association in its purposes. Please contact Susan Doull, Sustaining Membership Chair.

Membership per club year is 60 euro (or $95.00 - includes wire transfer fee and euro exchange). For those women under 30 years of age and women over 65 years of age, membership is 55 euro (ot $88.00 - includes wire transfer fee and euro exchange) per club year. The club year runs from June 1 through May 31. Our activities are scaled back during the summer months.
