Cinecittà "Shows Off"

A private guided visit to Cinecittà, the famous film studio in Rome dubbed “Hollywood on the Tiber” has been organized this month for members, With an area of 400,000 square meters, it is the largest film studio in Europe and is considered the hub of Italian cinema. World- renowned film makers such as Fellini, Rossellini, Visconti, Bertolucci, Ford Coppola, Scorsese, Sergio Leone and Mel Gibson have worked at Cinecittà.

Founded in 1955 at the suggestion of then U.S. Ambassador to Italy Clare Boothe Luce, The American Women’s Association of Rome (AWAR) is a non-political, non-sectarian and not-for-profit organization. AWAR offers monthly social and cultural activities and the opportunity for service in the community. Our members come from all over the world - 65% from the United States while 35% represent 22 different nationalities. Many members are new to Rome while others live here permanently.
